Minha história

Nasci na Venezuela, onde tive uma babá que se chamava Guendalina e só falava inglês.  Em Caracas também estava rodeada por pessoas que falavam português e espanhol. Dizem que crianças expostas a mais de um idioma começam a falar um pouco mais tarde do que o normal. Não fui exceção à regra e só comecei a falar a partir dos 3 anos. Minha família brinca que até hoje estou tentando recuperar o tempo perdido.

 

Aos dois anos mudei para o Brasil com minha família e aqui fiquei até os 21. Meu padrasto era francês e americano.  Por causa dele tive a oportunidade de conhecer muitos países.  Fui colocada em uma escola de inglês aos 7 anos e estudei até o colegial. Depois de cursar agronomia na ESALQ-USP, junto com meu padrasto e minha mãe, me mudei para os Estados Unidos.  Morei 6 anos em Orlando e 6 anos em Chicago.

 

A experiência de morar nos Estados Unidos foi fantástica.  Depois de 8 anos me tornei uma cidadã americana.  Tenho o Brasil e os Estados Unidos lado a lado em meu coração.  Passei a apreciar ainda mais a língua inglesa. Voltei ao Brasil em 2005 para trabalhar com Ricardo Semler na abertura do Hotel Botanique em Campos do Jordão.  Essa experiência também foi muito rica e em dois anos aprendi um pouco de tudo.  Com a suspensão do projeto me vi buscando novos caminhos.  A tradução veio de maneira natural.  Eu sempre gostei muito de ler e estudar.  A tradução me deu a oportunidade não só de manter meu elo com o idioma inglês, mas também de poder conhecer novas áreas e com isso presentear meu lado extremamente curioso.  Vejo a tradução e interpretação como uma janela de mundos que não me pertencem no dia a dia, mas onde tenho a oportunidade de conhecê-los através dos meus serviços profissionais.

 

Terminei o curso de Tradução e Interpretação no Alumni em 2009 e desde então tenho atuado continuamente na área.  Já interpretei e traduzi diversos assuntos como: Tecnologia da Informação, Medicina, Meio Ambiente, Marketing, Importação de Gás Natural, Economia e Gastronomia entre outros.

Tenho muito prazer no que faço e com isso busco sempre oferecer um trabalho de alta qualidade com a flexibilidade e preparação necessárias para o sucesso de qualquer evento.

Atualmente resido em Campos do Jordão na Aldeia do Holon.

My History

I was born in Venezuela, where I had a nanny that could only speak English and I was surrounded by people who spoke Portuguese and Spanish. It is said that babies exposed to more than one language take a little longer to start speaking. I was no exception, and I only started speaking when I was 3 years old. My family jokes that I am still trying to make up for the time I didn´t speak.

 

When I was two years old I moved with my family to Brazil where I stayed until I was 21. My stepfather was French/American and thanks to his generosity I had the opportunity to visit many countries. My mother made me take English classes since I was 7 and did not let me quit until after I finished high school. After studying Agronomy Engineer at the University of São Paulo I moved with my mother and stepfather to the United States where I lived for 12 years, half of the time in Orlando and the other half in Chicago.

 

The experience of living in the United States was fantastic. After eight years I became an American citizen. My heart belongs equally to Brazil and the United States. I returned to Brazil in 2005 to work with Ricardo Semler for the opening of Botanique Hotel in Campos do Jordão. It was a very interesting experience and in two years I learned about many different things. When the project was halted I had to rethink my future. Translation came very naturally. I always loved to read and study. Translation gave me an opportunity to not only keep my strong bond with the English language, but also to learn about different subjects rewarding my very curious personality. I see translation and interpretation as a window to worlds that don´t belong to me, but I have the rare opportunity to learn about them through my professional services.

 

I graduated from Alumni Translation and Interpretation course in 2009 and since then I have continuously worked translating and interpreting events on Information Technology, Medicine, Environment, Marketing, Energy, Economy and Gastronomy among other subjects.

I love what I do and I always strive to offer a high quality work with the necessary flexibility and preparation that are required for the success of any event.
