Interpretação Simultânea
O intérprete usa um microfone e os ouvintes usam fones de ouvido. O intérprete pode usar um transmissor portátil ou estar sentado em uma cabine. O orador é traduzido simultaneamente.
O alto nível de concentração necessária para esse tipo de interpretação exige que cada intérprete trabalhe por curtos períodos de tempo e por isso se revezam a cada 20 ou 30 minutos. Isso significa que normalmente pelo menos dois intérpretes são necessários por evento.
Normalmente uma taxa fixa é acordada para um período de 6 horas. Caso o evento exceda 6 horas de trabalho um valor de hora extra é acordado.
Para eventos onde mais de duas pessoas irão ouvir o intérprete a utilização de equipamento como o microfone e os fones de ouvido é essencial para o sucesso do evento. A apresentação não perde o ritmo e o tempo é utilizado de maneira mais eficiente

Simultaneous Interpretation
The interpreter uses a microphone and listeners wear a headphone.
The interpreter might be using a portable transmitter or be in a booth. The lecturer is translated simultaneously.
The high level of concentration required to this type of interpretation demands the work of two interpreters. Each will interpret for about half an hour. This means that most interpretation services will require two interpreters.
A rate is usually agreed for a period of six hours. If the event requires more than 6 hours of work, an amount for overtime is negotiated.
For events where more than two people will listen to the interpreter the use of microphones and headsets is essential for a successful event. The presentation is more fluid and there is no waste of time.

É usado quando somente uma ou duas pessoas precisam de tradução. O intérprete senta entre ou logo atrás dos ouvintes e traduz simultaneamente o que está sendo falado. Esse método é aconselhável somente para eventos que envolvem um número pequeno de pessoas.
Whisper
It is used only when one or two people need translation. The interpreter seats between or behind listeners and translates simultaneously what is being said. This method is advised only to events that involve a small number of people.

O intérprete ouve o orador por um determinado tempo e depois traduz sua fala para o idioma de destino. Esse método de interpretação tem um uso maior de tempo, mas funciona bem quando o tempo não é uma questão importante.
Consecutive Interpretation
This form of interpretation is commonly used in meetings with a small number of participants. The interpreter listens to a set number of utterances from the speaker and then gives their rendition in the target foreign language. This method of interpreting is more time consuming, bust works well in meetings at which time is not necessarily of the essence.
